-Tried to eat dinner, but could only have the rice
-Watched Barack Obama on the Rachel Maddow Show, laid on the couch
-Fell asleep (8:45pm)!!!

Headaches
I think I've had a headache almost every day for the last 2 months. I read in one of my books that headaches CAN be caused by hormones or it could be that I'm clenching my jaw too much when I sleep. Whatever the reason, its difficult because I don't want to take TOO much tylenol (not every day) - just makes me uncomfortable. The headaches did get me to search the internet though and somewhere it said that according to an old wives tale, pregnancy headaches mean your having a boy! If that's the case, then we are DEFINITELY having a boy because these headaches won't go away!! Got me thinking of other old wives tales regarding gender. Here they are and I will share my answers in parentheses.
If the hair on your legs is growing faster than before you were pregnant - BOY (GIRL)
If you sleep with your pillow to the north - BOY (BOY)
If your feet are colder than they were before pregnancy - GIRL (BOY)
The maternal mother has grey hair - BOY (BOY)...sorry mom!
Morning sickness early in pregnancy - GIRL (GIRL)
Chest development has been quite dramatic - GIRL (GIRL!!!!!!)
Craving for salty or sour foods - BOY (BOY)
Craving for fruit - GIRL (GIRL)
****maybe I'm just craving everything****
Dad to be is NOT gaining weight right along with mom - GIRL (GIRL)
You are looking particularly good during pregnancy (yes, thank you) - BOY (BOY)
So there you have it -some old wives tales. It seems from the results that we're still 50/50. Just 3-5 more weeks to go and we'll hopefully know the answer.

It's Tuesday - week 14!
Yesterday I began week 14 which means I'm only about 6 weeks away from finding out the sex of my little bun!! I think it's awesome when people can wait until they give birth to find out the sex, but I am unfortunately not one of those people. I wonder if Lee is?? I don't think I've ever really asked him IF he would want to be surprised. I think he just knows that I'm incredibly impatient when it comes to these things and went along with me. Hmmmm.....
Yesterday I got all of my maternity clothes in the mail. They couldn't have come at a better time because all of my work pants are officially too tight. Yesterday I walked around all day with my pants unbuttoned and only zipped, hoping they wouldn't come undone :) So today is my first official day of wearing maternity pants!! I'm wearing a pair of grey cords from old navy and omg, they are comfortable! Right now I'm thinking...."YAY for maternity clothes!". I probably won't be saying YAY around April, but for now I'm happy!
This coming Saturday we have our 2nd trimester appointment for some blood work and hopefully another ultrasound. I hope to have a pic of our little bun to post on this blog at some point next week.

OMG, I'm pregnant!!
Today I'm starting an edition of this blog called "OMG, I'm pregnant" where I feature things that happen and reminded me that "OMG, I'm pregnant"!!
Today I will talk about clothes.
My jeans would not button this morning. I believe, that until my maternity clothes shipment arrives, I only have 2 pair of extreme low-rise jeans to wear (better than none) that actually fit me. My button down shirts are getting so tight that I have to wear t-shirts under them just so I don't have to button them over my chest.
HELL-O 34D!! I heard it all only gets worse from here. Too bad there's not a bra exchange program where you can keep trading up for a bigger size :)

13 weeks!
This week I'm at 13 weeks of my pregnancy and into my second trimester - YAY! I've been told from many people that I'll start to feel more like myself now which is GOOD because every morning lately, I get out of bed, feed the dogs and then lay back down on the couch for 15 minutes cause I'm so tired :) I would love for that to go away in the next few weeks, however I've also been told that I'll be tired for the next 18 years!!
For a few interesting 13 week facts, the baby is roughly the size of a peach this week....probably around 3 inches. The intestines are moving into the abdomen, and the vocal chords are developing. They say that the baby's sexual organs have already developed - if it's a girl, her eggs (the amount she'll have for her whole life) are already developed as well - isn't that AMAZING!! However, we won't be able to identify the sex for at least another 3 weeks, probably longer even.
Our next Doctor's appointment is Saturday Nov. 1 which I think is an appointment for a lot of blood tests and I'm sure an ultrasound. Get to see the little peach again :)
Hopefully I'll get Lee to take a pic of me this week, even though you can't see anything yet!

Baby name
Keeping in the spirit of the presidential election and the "brilliant" man who decided to name is daughter Sarah McCain Palin something, Lee and I decided last night that whatever we have (boy or girl), the child's name is going to be Barack Biden Obama Reinis. It just rolls off the tounge, doesn't it?
....just kidding moms :) hahaha...

My first REAL craving!
Last night I think I actually had a real craving. I was driving home from work thinking about cooking something for dinner and wanted to die at the thought of having to clean up whatever I cooked. I had a fleeting thought of a burger and fries and then couldn't get it out of my head, I was fixated. I have been frequenting In & Out often lately because of my aversion to chicken and fish, but the only In & Out on the way home is sort of out of my way in Westwood. So, I did something that most people who know me will be shocked by...I went to McDonald's!!!!
Now, this option did not come easily to me. I had to call my brother and sister to make sure that I wasn't a horrible mother for feeding myself and my little bun chicken Mcnuggets and fries. They assured me that we would both be ok and that if I didn't get what I wanted, I wouldn't be satisfied. Boy, were they right! Not only did I get the "select" chicken strips and fries (and 2 dipping sauces), but I got a cheeseburger too and man was it good! I didn't feel bad afterward either, not physically or emotionally :) In & Out will remain a weekly staple, but I'm not opposed to a trip to McDonald's once in a blue. Sometimes you just have to listen to what your body needs...junk food :)
